This is the third in a series of articles on things to do when taking a holiday in the area of Lyme Bay coast of southwest England. My intention is twofold - firstly to tempt visit this wonderful area of England, and secondly, to help you enjoy your visit to suggest some interesting things to see and do.
The coast of Lyme Bay and crosses the West Dorset and East Devon and is an ideal place for holidays on the coast of the family, romantic short breaks in two or weekend breaks winter. The area is an easily accessible place in England and is known for his fossil hunting, stunning natural beauty, protected harbors sandy beaches and thatched cottages. The climate is relatively mild all year so it's a great place to visit at any time during the year. Lyme Bay is approximately two hours by train or car from London - if you travel by train from Waterloo station then Axminster in east Devon, is a good destination to go.

Food is home to Hugo del Rio
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, celebrity chef, smallholder, television presenter, writer Food and rights activist chicken often be seen around these parts that travel between the River Cottage canteen and its headquarters and production shop in Axminster. If you want a culinary treat both worth a visit.
The local health food store in Axminster, East Devon offers a collection of local and organic foods and beverage products in the South West. The store stocks a wide selection of the best local and seasonal arrangements, such as milk, eggs, bread, meat, chicken, beers and wines. The canteen Axminster, attached to the grocery store, we serve snacks and meals during the day and is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday.
If you want a real treat for the months of August (you might want to save for this!) You can spend a summer night in Park Farm, River Cottage HQ, dining outdoors in the best local produce. The evening starts at 6:00 pm with canapés and a welcome drink. Then, toured the headquarters of River Cottage, view the gardens and smallholders - any questions you may have about the growing their own fruit and vegetables and running a small farm will be answered by their hosts. You will be served a set menu of four around the course in garden produce and the finest local organic farmers. This is a real Foodie treatment for that special occasion.
300 years of horticultural history and more
Take a trip to Bicton Park and enjoy over sixty acres of beautiful gardens with sweeping lawns, water features and gardens, elegant tail. More than 300 year history of horticulture found in these gardens in the beautiful East Devon's Otter Valley. Bicton Park has attractions that will appeal to all ages. Not impressive House Palm, home to a fantastic collection of palms and tropical plants and the Arboretum, which has some of the most fantastic tree in the country. Wander and enjoy other attractions which include The Little House of Shells, the romantic garden of the Hermitage, The Secret Garden, streams, forests, lake and acres of informal gardens.
There is plenty to occupy the younger members of any part of visit. You can explore the nature trail where you can watch birds feeding and listening sing and can learn to identify their calls, you can play mini golf, or lost in the maze of Bigfoot. The Bicton Woodland Railway offers a scenic drive around the park and a joy for children and adults alike. After all that activity can take a break and enjoy a meal or snack in the Restaurant Orangerie, which has large overlooking the gardens.
